"Pick Your Side"

"Don't ever think you have this disease beat,
or it will knock you right out from under your feet,
and leave you breathless,
on the side of the road,
shaking your head,
at what has been shown.

Just writing this down,
I feel the most spine-tingling chill,
because I don't know about you,
but for me,
this inner battle is real.

Every single day,
I have to pray,
and decide on which side of the fence,
I want to stay,
because everyone will eventually,
have to pick a side,
you might as well pick now,
there is no point any longer,
in trying to hide."
