Pied Piper

Pied Piper

Rodent fodder such disdain
Ravenous tis glorious reign
Picked clean to the bone
Sanguine awash cobblestone

Pied Piper, pitch follows
Besiege Sleepy Hollows
Laid ruin towns aplenty
In the year of our Lord 1420

Grave twas twilight befall
Twote melodious call
Chords soft on olid air
Rid mischief hour of despair

Levant kinfolk bow to pray
Boon tis owed to pay
Urchins maunder this night
Maestro acclaim by right

There’s something inspiring about reading poetry using Old English words I’ve never seen before. Quite a dark piece but in my opinion very well written. Β I’m just a novice on here and in life. But at least I can grasp it enough to appreciate it.Β
