A Plausive Illation*

*

(And there lies impennous

Perdurable paradise,

Immanent and impleached;

Held high in hysteresis,

Hypnotically reached.)

*

A photic clue has reached mine eye

After aeons of nescient bliss;

That subliminal succubus men adore

Is but a true love's kiss.

*

This love though is no labile lust,

No lambent touch of mortal flesh,

The wife, the sweet, may be but dust

Of that which once was new and fresh.

*

Once I loved - a spirit pure

And now I have forgot,

Once I lived -

Now not !

*

*[Yes, I know, but that's what dictionaries are for, surely!]
