Playdough Kids

Take play-dough make it into a cute little girl or boy
Make sure to give him or her a name too
Now every time you get upset or mad
Make sure to blame that play-dough kid
Yell at it and make it feel of no value
Throw him or her at the wall in anger
When you really can’t take it anymore
Just keep slamming your closed fist, Against their little chest but please…
Don’t hit my sister or me anymore,
We can’t take it like the play-dough kids
We are just not as strong, I wish we were
So it didn’t hurt us when you hurt
So we didn’t have to feel your pain
But the play-dough kids they really don’t mind
They we’re made for that kind of play

Nicely done Rob, I liked the use of playdough for this piece. Children are so very impressionable. They carry abuse with them far longer than the event itself. I wish those adults could comprehend the magnitude of their actions. A good write x
As a child I believe you take it way more personal and rightfully so. I’ve come to grasp the reality of the past situations and abuse and realized they were acting out how they knew to do so. The real importance needs to be put on becoming healthy mentally before ever considering becoming a parent or accepting a situation where you are putting others at risk for your lack of growing. Otherwise the same pattern the abused grew to hate, they in return could keep alive and hand down. I’m grateful all the darkest parts of my past I managed to escape but their also were a ton of unhealthy habits like alcohol abuse that I willingly adopted. Children deserve to be comfortable in their own skin and deserve to be raised up, not broken down.
Glad you enjoyed the delivery through a childhood staple, playdough and legos sum up my favorites :).
