Poetically Numb

Poetically Numb

I sit patiently with blank paper,
Yet my pen it will not write,
The words will not appear,
Although I try with all my might.

My mind is free of feeling,
And heart, it silently sleeps,
My muse has gone and left me,
I cannot hear a peep.

I stare into emptiness,
As my ideas are running dry,
I cannot right a sentence,
No matter how hard I try.

It’s as if I’m poetically numb,
I’m stuck with these blank pages,
But still I sit patiently,Β
Until my situation changes.
