Poetry with Friends

Down at The Mission
Sitting round a big table
Reading poetry
Like-minded people
With a love of verse and worse
Waxing lyrical
One that I treasure
By W H Davies
Simply called “Leisure"
What is this life if ….
Full of care, we’ve no time to ….
Stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as
Sheep or cows, no time to see
When woods we pass, where
Squirrels hide their nuts
In grass, in the broad daylight
Or streams full of stars
Just like skies at night
No time to turn at Beauty’s
Glance, and watch her feet,
And how they can dance ….
And that smile her eyes began ….
A poor life this if ….
We have no time to ….
Go to the Mission to read
