Is leet-speak the future?
The new Esperanto?
Will we, at last, understand each other?
I don't think so!
Will it end the hate and wars?
And open international doors?
And B4 u say terrific
This return to hieroglyphicÂ
Could distance us from cores
of  expressiveness and creativity.
Where is the emotion in this strange activity?
Where the ocean of feeling and expression?
Will this lead to yet another lessonÂ
In separation?
Each nation, past and present, donated
Word and meaning steeped in history.
Will we now choose to lose it all
For convenience? Â Lose the mystery
And artistry? Â Each word has its own meaning.
Is the future now leaning towards
Taking us from omni-glot to uni-glot?
I hope not!
