Poinsettia

Amongst harvest rows
Belies winter rose
Sanguine foliage arise
Embody Christmas ties
Rumors longtime past
Lay claim to miracle cast
Bestowed lowly alms
Anointed by parish psalms
Pigments adorn bloodred
Signify whose heart bled
Poinsettia evergreen leave
Infinite tithes to receive
Of all things great and small
God heeds a timid call
Nativity bells merrily din
Blest tis humble urchin

Thank you my poet friend.
When I see this flower I imagine a perfectly frosty Xmas scene. Sadly in UK it is mild and rainy and the most in christmassy year I have ever had!! I just imagined myself a perfect one after reading your verse!! Thankyou π€

Simply marvellous piece to cheer up the coming Christmas - must be pinned by me :)
I had one before but threw it away after the Festival - actually it needs a little TLC, just like any love, and it'll bloom again next year, hopefully beyond ;-)>
Thank you Yiyan π₯°
