Poem -
The Pope's Crusades
With my swords drawn ready to battle the wicked foe
Amist the toil and turbulent time of this age of old
Providing a mighty bounty for the pope on his throne
Massacred many for which we thought we did right right by His Name
Imposing our will on this blood soaked field
Pushing back our enemy from God's holy lands
Defending what was right by the pope's high command
We took back His town through our crusades of vigilance
Did we sacrifice everything or was it all in for not ?
As God looks down from heavens perch
Hoping that He will understand all we traversed
With the crusades of the pope coming to a close
Humbly bowing to His Name , hoping and praying this war was not in vain

Very cool write Rock, soon as I started reading I thought crusades and knights Templar. There is an awesome movie about the crusades when they were lost to the Muslims right before King Richard the lion heart started his crusade wars in the holy lands, it is called Kingdom Of Heaven and if you haven't seen it please do a truly incredible movie I know you will enjoy. Didn't like the fact that the templars werw bloodthirsty Starting wars because they thought just because were God's army were invincible. People back then misused their faith and God in the wrong way. Stars Rock.
Hey Devon . Thanks for your comments. This write took a while to do . I read some more history about the crusades before I finished my poem . They thought the pope was doing the right thing by going to war over the holy lands. It has never been stable over there and never will till Jesus comes back to restore peace on this earth.
