I have had the finest food from your love,
the hors d'oeuvres came from heaven above,
I didn't need the middle east for a wonderful feast,
rather, steered away from all the things I liked least.

The spices permeated the air, an aphrodisiac fair,
I had to be careful, because I may have what I dare,
there was never anything to lose, everything to gain,
a universal paella straight from the Spanish main.

An array, so they say, of baked alaska with cream,
the laughter and bon homie trickled down a moonbeam,
pistachio mingled with marzipan, tingled till it hurts,
now I knew what it was like to get my just desserts.

The table was laid, the angels gave a smile serene,
all this while, all these courses, where had you been?
