Rain drops Tinged With Happiness

Rain drops Tinged with Happiness

People have lots of memories

Happy ones, sad ones

I remember a moment

that inspired me

reminded me

that people

should care for others

Rain was falling

hard

Crushing the delicate spring petals

that had just appeared

I remember

Someone once told me

Rain is just Earth’s tears

It can be full of joy

Or weeping for loss

The window

was like a picture frame

but it portrayed real life

A man

old

lonely

Was sitting on a bench

hiding from the rain

no place to go

Another man

passed by

and disappeared

barely noticing the man

on the bench

Then

He reappeared

Carrying a cup of coffee

with a smell so strong

I could taste it just from the window

He walked by the man

and

stopped

and handed the man

the warm, steaming cup

He

stopped

when he could have kept going

through the rain

to his home

This moment

most people would think

as silly

or unimportant

wouldn’t remember

But I do

 Now I see that man

now off that bench

working at a cafe

maybe even his own

and from time to  time

even hands out mugs

to those running from

the rain

he even gave me one

This man

just needed someone to make his day

to help him

get on his feet

Imagine if everyone were like that

That moment

as the rain slowed to a drizzle

I believed that this rain actually was tears

Tears of joy
