"Rainy Day Impressions "

I live on Lake Shore Drive, so from my window I can see the lake
Today it's raining hard, so, for me there's no escape
I'll wait out my fearsome opponent with a semblance of patience
I needed to go outside, to remember my exasperation
At being stuck indoors so long, because of an illness that's crippling me The walls have become so strong, they no longer hinder, they're binding me
And it's these rainy day impressions, that slap me in the face
Reminding me that it's not so bad, being bedridden when it's raining
Did you know that it takes a raindrop 40 seconds to glide it's way down
The full length of the window pane, as boring as that may sound
It's these rainy day impressions, boring, though they may be
Are like a friendly stranger, coming to pay a visit on me
And although I feel it fraudulent to make a false impression
I just needed you to know, that I've learned a lasting lesson
When you're stuck inside yourself, because of health or poverty
It's all about the friends you've made, to keep you company
To maintain your sanity
To promote your dignity
And finally help you see
That right outside your window
The sun is shining
Unconditionally.....

T` this is a superb piece that could have almost been written for me as I am confined like you permanently to bed through multiple serious illness`s. I know exactly what you are going through sweety. It amazes me at how we cope with things like that in our lives. The human spirit is amazingly strong and we can all find ways of coping if we put our minds to it. We find that what life and illness takes away from us, God in his wisdom and through his pure love replaces them with other beautiful qualities, we just have to listen to him and it`s important that we trust in his love and his care.
For every negative aspect in life there are many many positives and we are both really lucky because we are blessed with the love and friendship that we all enjoy so much. All that has come from the blessing of being able to write beautiful poetry. We are in turn helping to make other people`s lives more enjoyable, so we are doing Gods work all by ourselves and I know he is a very proud father with all our hard work.
So when you are feeling a bit hemmed in, in your room, just remember these words and your poetry, because they have brought us all great joy sweety. We may both be very ill but we are also very blessed to be able to bring joy to others in their lives.
I would be lost completely if I didn`t have my Harry! (my laptop) to keep me company and that little machine keeps me in touch with the world of poetry. He has helped me find the love of my life! you and Cherie! and all my other many friends on cosmo. So for me each day is different because there is so much to read and enjoy in other peoples work. It makes life a joy for me and encourages me to write even more poetry as I know it does for you too.
So stay as strong as you are my sweet and keep on working hard like you do, because I am right there with you every step of this journey in life and I always will be. Life is not boring honey it is just different each minute of the day, you can always find something good in each and every one of those minutes, just open your mind and let that information from God flood in and then put it all down on paper for everyone to enjoy. Well done for a very good piece. I love you kidda. G xx
