Reasons

a hazy encounter
in someone's home
another den of iniquity
under the influence
of a hallucinogen
I shall not mention

I was taken suddenly
by a need to unburden
the weight of my sins
to a stranger bedside me
knowing with tomorrow's dawn
he wouldn't remember

I told him things I'd done
that hatred and rage fuelled my hands
how I fed my demons without thought
he listened silently
"how the fuck do you sleep at night,"
he asked

I don't
I still don't
sleep.

WOW!!...ths sounds a LOT like me in my younger days!!!.....did a lot of experimenting with "altered states of consciousness"......and it certainly leads to a loss of inhibitions where unburdening yourself on stranger is a most likely scenario!!...very cool share brother poet!!......ALL STARS!!.....LOVE and ROCKETS!!!.....T xo ?☀✴✳

My Dear Friend Lost,

Sometimes the house you visit
Isn't all it's "cracked up to be"
Instead of getting happy
It brings pure misery

You go there to get rescued
But you sink deeper into fear
For you've abandoned all your loved ones
And only demons now are near

Peace and Love,
Larry xxx

In a way your poem sums it all up, Larry. Thank you for taking the time to read.
