Reborn

Reborn

Gentle fury of tears and wails
freshly fill his virgin sails
as eyes of blue attempt to see
all that this new world entails.

A world whose view begins with me.

Flashing before my very eyes,
my days of yore passed up for more.
As if on lease my time not mine,
Biology has deemed it so.

So without a thought I let him know.

"Hi, little one...here you go.
All that I am and all that I have,
wrapped up in a love unimaginably sewn
and tailored to fit such a miniature mold.

For anything is possible when you are a moment old.

As you will always be to me, my boy.
An eternal gift of endless joy.
And the end to all of my joyless days.
An unknowing leader now guiding my way."

Through the birth of my son I am reborn today.
