Reincarnate

Reincarnate

How did I come to be me?
Was I born or a reincarnate?
Does this explain deja-vu?
Are my memories mine?
Or another’s from a past time line.

I recall a Queens coronation
Was that a memory in transition?
Or just a fanciful dream.
Could I have been another me?
Or maybe even a lemon tree.

So much of our minds is hidden
Perhaps knowing is forbidden.
But I’d like to know my other me
From whence I came to be.

I recall places where I have been
But which I could never have seen.
Whatever the truth may be
We can only live this life we have.

Not dream of having been another
You are you and can be no other.
Let the others who came before be gone
Live your life and sing your own song.
In the end our truth is,
I am who I am
And the I, I am,
Is happy to be
The me I am.
