Relief

(Waves)

Relief

Writing words in the sand.
Bad thoughts in my head.
Send them off to a faraway place.
Keep me in check, keep me safe.

Emotions are like waves to me.
They can rise great heights,
They can stretch out or be gone in a second.
They can crash violently or ease away.

But when the waves crash amongst the sharpened cliffs.
And it seems too much.
Sending these words off,
Makes the clouds lift.

So do I care what others think?
It was never about that for me.
I write as an out,
That is just how it’s supposed to be.

And all your support.
Is just a bonus~

I found relief.
The Fish of the Sea.

Thanks for the Idea Tina!

I really enjoyed this poem. The first stanza really drew me in. Writing means many different things to many different poets. I sense the release that writing gives you.

Very relatable - Syd

Being Me

I totally "get" this!  Writing sooooo helps but when you get a little message of support it can really, really lift the spirits. Great poem, my dear friend x
