Outside My Window

Outside My Window

This is a poetic response to a prompt.
That prompt was simply: What can you see outside the window right now.

Blinding sun, shining through massive windows heating up the space around me. Bathing the many trees outside in light and warmth. Construction workers, driving, pointing, walking and working with each other to complete tasks. A car, now idle, empty in the sun. The road down the hill, full of busy people trying to reach their various destinations. Birds, flying through the air together, taking off and landing on the many trees. Wind, rustling the many tree leaves to and fro, the small grass sprouts not dealing so well, being tousled and ripped from the ground. People on all sides of me, still inside, all talking and laughing, unfocused and bored. I wish for quiet, but whilst I'm here I will not get it as this place is always loud. From students to construction sounds, to screams and drilling, I will not be able to sit here and focus.
