Revenant

reunion

Revenant

revenant

in a dream, alone
on a cloud lit night,
on stretched cotton
rains sienna, amber,
and titanium white,
a lightning waterfall,
yellows among blues,
a river of light awash
in emerald hues.

in a wave, in a swash,
in the blink of an eye,
the colors run and dry,
to reveal the moon in
full and you alone,
astride a white swan,
above a sketch of
trees, in a red
orange dawn

and there below
on grass pale green,
a pyre of straw for me,
to lay awake, in wait,
for your lips like fire,
for your touch like silk,
for love, for beauty,
returned at lastΒ to
set me free.

Hello Marion,Β

I changed this poem.... as in Emily Tennyson's "the revenant", this poem like some of my others has a "half life of a day" .

Thank you Marion. You track my intentions so perfectly, always. Means a lot.Β

You are very welcome...I have always loved the 'atmosphere' or emotions of a write a little more than visual imagery...for me it's how the words make me feel you know? and you have a gift for both Mark x

Hello there:)

i just changed, edited, this as i sometimes do here and was prompted to share the recommendation I made to Marion to read the Revenant by Emily Sarah Tennyson, Lord Alfred Tennyson's wife. I have only found one poem by her, this one that describes the indescribable, the process of writing poetry.

I can only imagine the heights she would have scaled had she chose only the poet's path. Surely one of the greats in our language, her husband, was blessed, she surely was his muse and I'm sure, much more. I never read any of his poems without thinking of Emily.

when I read your poems, she comes to mind.
