feeling the Clyde
brother to many
feeling “the Clyde”
today “the Clyde” is in me
the sun the loving sun, the
shadowed oak and chaparral,
the blue revealing clouds
and climbing hills, redolent
with the scent of life.
amidst the sight and sounds
of wind and birds and seals,
fading then turning back,
i see “the Clyde” again,
golden and gliding on curved
walls of waves in blue
green and white returning.
today “the Clyde” is in me,
lifting and freeing me
to the little things and great,
to the world unlocked,
the known and unknown,
beautiful ineffable and real.
today, i see each every
soul free of past forgiven,
smiling seeking and aspiring,
ready to love and be loved.
all this and always
seen by “the Clyde” and
on this day by me.

Well written Mark.
Thanks for the view.
thank you sir, it is so good to find a note from you here.Â
i can only imagine what it felt like to be a country boy in South Africa... the beautiful oceans and beautiful valleys and endless verdant rolling hills ....
please write more so i can, prompted by your poetry, imagine.
You put it so well and elegantly for it seems you're in tune with what you see and vice versa.
A meeting then a melding of minds from opposite ends to become one.
Enjoyed the strength and sheer quality of writing on display.
Elegantly done and elegant in imaginative structure.
Thank you for generously sharing and you never disappoint in whatever theme you choose Mark.

To me these words come from a soul in this precise moment...at ease...with the universe, connected to everything and all,
a rare and joyous way to experience life in the manic world...beautiful Mark x
Thank you, Marion and Shaun, and all.
Clyde was/ is, my brother; some days, by some sign or act of nature, I feel his energy and I pledge to engage the world with more curiosity, more inventive thinking, to smile more and to treat all strangers as “angels in disguise”.
He was one with nature, golden and gliding, magical. people all, of all kinds, all stations, were drawn to him. He passed tragic and too soon. i rage against his fate, but his memory lifts me, from tears to faith, a faith yet still unrequited.

I imagine many of those who were unfamiliar with Clyde before now, in effect, those who had never met with him, or had previously heard his name mentioned .. Indeed, many like me will have now gained much more of an appreciation and understanding of him having visited this page and the glowing tribute you have pinned here ..
He reads like an incredible individual who will have had a profound effect on those he met, loved and or cared for .. I suspect also that the love and respect for him that those who did know him will spill over and onto others .. I know it has done upon me (at least the respect bit) I guess and hope there may yet be time .. I am so glad I came upon Clyde this way Mark and thank you yet again sir ..
With much Respect, All the very best of All Good Things, Neville
p.s. please forgive any typing or other errors in this hastily scribbled response, I am at this precise moment still very tired .. N :)Â

Neville, thank you. Yes, Clyde would have made you smile.
Your works here make others smile here, others think, and most both at the same time.Â
I wasn't sure what "the Clyde" was before I read the comments but I did know how special it ( but 'he' as it transpires) is to you. This poem has a spirituality within it that cannot be denied. I read it again, knowing Clyde was your brother and it made me both happy and sad at the same time. Sad because your brother has passed, happy because he is now 'all of life' everywhere at once. He is with you always. This poem is beautiful x
