Rhyming, Schmiming!

Rhyming, Schmiming!

I like a good laugh and that why when I write
I try to show life from all sides.
The dark and the cruel, the romantic and trite
things we show and the things that we hide.
I like writing in verse and adore a good rhyme,
I love words that have rhythmĀ  andĀ  pace,
tales of love found and lost and of dastardly crimes,
of the dreams we all need to embrace.
But Ā sometimes I Ā find that I hit an impasse
using words just Ā likeĀ  Doorhinge and Gorringe,
but Ā feel I am destined Ā to be a jackass
as nothing I know rhymes with Orange!

Hi Tony... I was wanting to write something a while ago which described a selection of colours..including orange and IĀ  becameĀ  just so frustrated at the brick wallĀ  IĀ  was up against trying to get the rhythm rhymeĀ  right..I guess at that point I should have just gone Freestyle!! Maybe next time . Although having now discovered the meaning of Gorringe maybe there should be a poem about that in itself!!! Stay safe and wellĀ  funky brother! xxx Lodigiana xx

Lol. Lodigiana...
nothing beats laughing at yourself..
but I was told.. being a poet.. you reserve the right to mess up words at times..
So next time go for the home run.. swing wide.

Hey! I do.. with my bad spelling and grammar.. lmbo.

Hi Wilford, I guess that being a poet gives us a little flexibility in our language and to be honestĀ  it's great to use that sometimes! I love the fact that our words can be used to evoke so many emotions but if I can make someone smile then IĀ  feel I've had a good day! Thank you so muchĀ  for your comments and next time I really will 'swing wide'!!!Ā  Lodigiana x
