Rise of the Sun
It’s a beautiful sunrise as the night turns to day
Filling the sky with its gold
The warmth that comes with the sunrays
Dismissive the night time cold
A cockerel crows and songbirds sing
The start of a new day has begun
Oh what a pleasant feeling this brings
All from the rise of the sun
As daytime grows and the sun beats down
The animals come out to play
Happiness and joy are all around
Because of this beautiful day
Upon the eve, as the sun falls
And daylight starts to fade
Coolness stirs as night time calls
And the animals all go away
The sun drifts into the horizon
And sinks gently down to earth
The warmth of the day has nearly gone
But it had shone for all its worth
The skies are colored purple and red
A sight for any one’s eyes
As the sunshine puts itself to bed
The daylight fades and dies
Goodnight sweet sun, see you in the morn
When you arise and come out to play
I worship thee for keeping me warm
And for bringing each fresh new day

Beautifully and breathtakingly rendered poetry, Karen...
Very well rhymed with a smooth, even meter when read aloud.
Wonderfully well penned,
