Rose

Rose

Tis a sanguine rose I seek

To sample a tear from supple cheek

Sweet Spanish rose

Songs of thee I compose.

Briar thorns thou bane to bear

Heady fragrance kisses the air

Fickle tis thine heart my dear

I’d gladly take thine thorny spear

If only thou would take a chance

Waltz with me on a midnight dance

Swaying on a current warm

Sheltered from the raging storm

Β We can fly to the moon and back

Leaving stardust in our track

Awe thine beauty beyond bliss

Grace me with a gentle kiss
