Poem -

Salem town

Salem , Salem  , oh Salem  town  why  are you so cruel to me  you hide the one I love , she is there,   I see her in my dreams  she  was waving to me ,  you  know  what she means to me.  Salem, Salem oh Salem town why are you so cruel to me, you hide the one I love, she is there.

Yesterday I seen  her walk by the café I was having lunch in , by time I got out she was gone  and I knew not  where  she had gone ,  please Salem town I just want to say  I am sorry ,and ask for another chance  to  be  the one  she  always wanted me to be . So I guess I will just walk these old streets of yours looking and hoping for a glance of her. Why  we broke up I  can’t remember  I just know it was something stupid  and petty , I said things  and she said things I just wish  we hadn’t  .

Salem, Salem, oh  Salem town, why  are you so cruel to me , you hide the one I love, she is there,  I see  her in my dreams    she was waving  to me ,  you know what she means to me.  Salem, Salem, oh Salem town why are you so cruel to me, you hide the one I love, she is there.

I see  her in the distance  but by the time I get there she is gone,  where she goes I never know , I just want to say I am sorry, ask if she is alright , and maybe ask  for another chance , but she is always gone  when I get there ,  Salem are you telling me to forget her , I just can’t .

Wendy, this is a powerful poem, fraught with emotion, desire, and longing. I liked reading through and through.
