Saving You

I wanted so badly to believe
That you could be saved.
That maybe I
Could be the who saved you.
I tried so hard to believe you
When you promised
You weren’t addicted,
But I wanted to mean enough
I wanted you to understand,
That you needed to prove it
So that I would have no doubts.
I didn’t want to believe
That you were lying,
Going behind my back, despite
Everything you knew.
I wanted so badly to save you
The way my mom couldn’t save
My dad.
But like my mom I learned,
You can’t save someone
Who doesn’t want to save themselves.

Im sorry, this is heartbreaking. Addictions are complicated, we can't save them, we can only support them, they have to want and be willing and ready to work hard themselves.I hope you're ok and Im here if you need a friend
