Searching for Serenity

It’s like chasing your own tail.Â
Systematically designed to fail.Â
Drug inducedÂ
Just a little boost.Â
Poison fills our veinsÂ
Only madness remains
How can one relax
When filled to the max.Â
The flight then the crash
Looking for our stash
The mood swings
From a popper to a king.Â
Poison of your very own design
Pushing yourself into a state of declineÂ
Warping the mindÂ
But serenity you still can not find.Â
Daily additives ingestedÂ
Everyone’s invested
All a known risk
Within a society’s whisk. Â
Running while standing stillÂ
Our food, drinks, all we fill
A tasteful death of choiceÂ
Long past our dying voice.Â
Not only our bodies will we destroyÂ
Nature itself grows harder to enjoy
As our poisons drips into the landÂ
Death comes by man’s own hand.Â
Once we knew serenity
But pureness lost it’s identityÂ
As mankind names itselfÂ
Monstrosities placed on every shelf...

Thank you so much, I think I “flooded” the page with the 6 poems in a few hours and most are getting overlooked. I’ll drop it down to one post in the morning and one in the afternoon. I have thousands of poems I would love to get out to people to read and hopefully enjoy.  Thank you once again for the insightful response to my penned poetry.Â
