Seasons Changing

The crunching of my feet on slowly, oh so slowly melting snow,
the wshhh, wshhh, of the wind blowing through trees that are waiting to grow their leaves.
Breathing in the cold air, exhaling puffs of clouds.
The sun, warming more and more each day, shines through the shaded gray clouds,
gaining confidence as time passes by, it inches itself closer to us.
Cautiously the birds begin singing, oh so hesitant, so soft…..
    asking the sun,
                Is it spring yet?
