Seasons of the Heart

Our hearts have seasons, don't you know?
Tears and scars that over flow,
Memories warm as summer and spring,
Things that make you smile and sing.
A snap shot frozen in our hearts
Like timeless, priceless, precious art.
And words that burn straight into you
Stabs you, kills you, rips in two.
A changing place were people leave,
Long winter nights that let you grieve,
Or new friends come like summer rain.
Waters of kindness that help you feel sane.
Tragedy strikes like a Lightning bolt,
And thunder follows with blame and fault.
  Torrential floods that take away,
Loved ones, homes, and future days.
And like a clear, crisp, starlit night
A steady friend can make things bright
Even when the world is cold
And darkness falls and takes a hold
The heart has seasons, as we now know
But there is something we all should show
A heart that moves us towards love
The kind that's shown from God above.
A love not based on words, but deeds
These words an excellent person heeds.
