Secret

It sits inside,
Multiplies and divides,
Balloons up,
But does not deflate,
But irritates and aggravates,

Worms itself deeper and deeper,
Into the intestine track,
Makes its way into my heart,
To bleed yet another attack,
Drip by drip,
Drop by drop,

An embryonic foetus,
That grows and grows,
The eel circles,
Chases the snake,
Swims from my head to my toes,
Causes my body to rattle and roll,

Until I lose my balance,
Until I lose my breath,
Until I lose control,

It slithers and slimes,
Worms its way in,
Gets deep underneath my skin,
In every crevice,
In every pore,

This thing is inside me,
Gently bleeding me red raw,
It’s a burden that I carry,
And I don’t think I can’t take anymore.
