see through your lies

When you said “ I love you”
I believed it was true 
Looking back now... if only I knew

To try and worm your way into my head
It worked
It hurt 

When you cut me out of your life
I felt lonely every day, every night
Like no one else could make me smile
The way you did
No one else I could see a future with
I went into shutdown mode
I didn’t want to speak to anyone at all
Told myself no one would be there
To catch me when I fall

I feel stupid
Stupid for believing you
Stupid for letting you see who I really am
I let you see my vulnerability 
You took me for granted 
Don’t come back looking for second chances
It’s done. It’s over. 
We’re moving on with our lives 
But believe me when I say 
I now see through your lies.
