September Rain

September rain

Before winter blues

As the vine unwind

And perennials snooze

An autumn chill

Is in the air

As leaves spill

Everywhere

The weather unknows

What to do

As it blows

An autumnal stew

Sometimes it rains

Sometimes it’s dry

Umbrellas strain

As the winds drops by

When it rains

It tends to pour

As the wind blows

All the more

Sometimes we get

An Indian summer

September, October

And even November

So after a dank

June and July

August yet September

Passes us by

Other times we’re in

For winter nights

As darkness draws in

Solar nights

The coal fire stoked

Chill blames begin

Wrapped up warm

With our next of kin
