On the Serengeti
Sedate on the Serengeti
The beat of the heat
Drowsing
The shimmer
The African plain
Rippling
The overhang
A solitary tree
Shading
Sedate on the Serengeti
My fur bakes
Torrid
The horizon
I peruse
I wait
The sun
To leave
Bringing dusk
Fear on the Serengeti
In the air
I create
A gazelle
I stalk
With stealth
Shallow breath
Heightened senses
Smell, sight
Calm on the Serengeti
Before the storm
Then I break
Break cover
Zoned in
On the meat
As I fright
Gazelle takes flight
Race is on
Mayhem on the Serengeti
A free for all
As I chase
Zig then zag
Twist nâ turn
Iâm onto her
Smell the fear
O Wild deer
For I am near
I love the chase
Terror I create
Exhilarates
Closer
Closer
CLOSER
ROAR!
Iâve got her!
Grappled down
To the ground
Tonight on the Serengeti
With my kill
Iâll have my fill

Peter! Â This is a most exciting write! Â You take the reader there into the heart and mind of the beast as it follows nature's call as a predator on the Serengeti Plain. Â Your imagery is superb!

Thank you Val :)
Thank you Angel. As you know yourself poetry is a necessary release, yet without recognition, the euphoria that can be experienced through writing just would not exist :)
