Shadowlands

I'll use shadows on your fence to make sense,
of nature, it:s open message and lack of pretence;
Louis Kahn used forty five degrees when studied overseas,
now I use all the sun's angles just given with ease.
You sit on a shelf, dangling your toes, anything goes,
while I look for a new slant writing shadow prose;
you want fountains, delphiniums, a deck with a pergola,
a white statue named after a greek god named Nicola.
The year is long, shadows rise and fall all the time,
but the summer months mask colour and shade sublime;
the moon tells the sun: 'I can fight you for your mystery,'
the sun says: 'I am warm, beaten you throughout history.'
My work is done, I watch mesmerised, like I have found,
everything came together when my shadows touched the ground.

A great sonnet. Shadows, architecture & nature, what a clever combination.
I really like it, Terry.Ā
