SHE WOULD

She got dressed up, put makeup on
She had no idea what she was going to learn from this one night,
She got to the party and a guy wanted to 'hook up'
She had to much to drink, not really anytime to even think
He lived a few blocks away, he asked her over for the night
Just for a place to stay, she was a mess
That night took a bad turn it was one she will never forget
No matter how hard she tries
He is there as she closes her eyes
He took advantage of her, she never said yes
She didn't tell anyone she believed it was for the best.

She remembered how he told her 
'I guess one thing led to another' 9 months have passed...
She is now a mother
but she cannot look into her child's eyes
She cries and she cries because she is constantly reminded of the pain
The feeling of misery and blame.
She gave the baby to a family who could give it the love she never could
If she could turn back time she would, but she can try to move on
No matter how hard it may be
He destroyed her in ways so hard to explain
He left her life surrounded with disgust and shame.

But he cannot control her anymore
She is taking back power
Once and for all.
