Shoot straight
For all the Jims in my life
*Not my words*
The words on the picture read....
The life of a man is like the flight of an arrow. A good straight shot is rewarded by entering the sacred hunting ground s. Man must stay sober and true to shoot straight. The target of life is to serve the purpose written by the great father and to enrich the spirit. It is better for man to aim and miss than to sit by the teepee and watch the great tournament of life, for none shall enter the sacred hunting grounds with an arrow in their quiver.

Enjoyed reading your poem Shelley and especially the ending, reminded me of the Valkyries of Valhalla gathering the worthy fallen in battle to accompany them back to its halls.

Thanks Tony 🙂, its a powerful piece for me and I'm glad I was moved to share it, its a part of my journey, my inspiration, hope it can inspire others. ❤☀ my biggest take away from it is, its more useful to try and fail than never try at all. A life spend making mistakes is not only more useful but more honourable than a life spent never trying to aim at all ☀

I had just read a beautiful poem by Jim the Lad on cosmo, Moon of sorrow and the connection to this hanging was powerful for me. Life's path is a twisty turny one for sure! Sometimes the way is clear and at other times the way forward is strewn with boulders but the dark woods it passes through ALWAYS holds beautiful glades of summer meadows. You are so right in what you say.
