Shooting Stars

Every night I thought of you
All those years ago,
They say to make a wish;
on the first star to appear in the sky,
every night I wished for you,
but it never did pull through.
Every day you were on my mind
All those years ago,
Apparently it’s good luck;
to make a wish at 11:11,
I’d wish for you to see,
these feelings that were consuming me.
But I’ve learned a lesson,
The universe is a mysterious place,
And the world works in funny ways;
all these years later
my one wish came true
and I finally have you.
So wish upon a shooting star
and count the constellations;
stare at the boldness of the moon,
and wonder who else is looking too,
for in this moment you’re lost in unknown
and for right now its alright to be alone.
