The Showgirl

Her Auburn hair flew freely
As she begins to move
All the menΒ mesmerised
As she gets into the groove
With every beat a swaying
Full movement of her hips
A fluttering of the eyelids
And pursing of the lips
Her slender body obvious
With the tighten of her dress
Legs in six inch heels
A cleavage to impress
Unfastening her zip
Undressing with pure ease
False smile on her face
For the men she has to please
The men think there in heaven
She thinks sheβs in hell
A life she never opted for
No one she could tell
Lighting up the stage
Her dance was in full flow
The audience going wild
Little did they know
Before she went on stage
Each and every night
Her mind was in turmoil
She held a private fight
With every performance
An unwanted fate
Forced to strip for leering men
A job that she did hate
Once mistaking kindness
A young girl insecure
A vulnerable teenager
Innocent and pure
Now trapped and looking for escape
Looking for a chance
To rid herself of this awful life
Where she is forced to dance
