SLEEP BECAME A BUTTERFLY

SLEEP BECAME A BUTTERFLY

When sleep became like a butterfly

Eluding, flitting, fluttering by

I beckoned her to come and stay

But she refused and flew away

I tried to coax her upon my hand

But she refused and would not land

The harder I tried and the more I insisted

The harder she fought and the more she resisted

Exhausted, I finally gave up the fight

It's going to be another long restless night

But when I learned to sit perfectly still

She came and sat of her own free will

When sleep becomes like a butterfly

Let go and release it with a sigh

Learn to wait and be perfectly still

For sleep comes of it's own freewill
