Sleepless Nights (The Devils Time)
the night is the hardest time to be alive
time flies, im sleep deprivedĀ
memories rewind,Ā
got a lot on my mind
i've got all night and all this time
to think of the right and wrong I've done in my life
PTSD, I wish I was free
sometimes I don't even feel like me
I'm done with the past,
but it keeps coming back
Room pitch black,
instrumental music playing in the back
It's 4 a.m and I still can't relax
I'm frustrated and just want to take a nap
It gets the best of me and I drink to try
To understand why
praying to God that i die or to help me survive
Wondering how many days or years I have left before running out of lives
It's Passed 4
My heart and my mind are at war
the person I was yesterday slowly dies as I watch the sunrise
the good always outweighs the bad, but the bad is what's giving me these sleepless nights.

javi, I'm liking you; I just got to say that at any time of the day I keep discovering great poetry on this site and from artists I've not read before; powerful....hey I'm going to check out more of your work man, this is terrific stuff....you're very conversational and thoughtful in your approach here...it's also a great topic you chose as well; to be honest I've never heard that before; calling the timeĀ when sleep doesn't come easily---Ā 'the devil's time' Ā that concept is interesting in of itself....you're way too cool not to read....cheers man
