'SLUGGIE'...The Snail

'Sluggie' the snail
Had made his way
Into my life
This sunny Thursday.
He was tiny and fragile
His shell was like glass
I bet he now wishes
He had never slid past
For I have never seen...
A snail move quite so fast..
I wanted to race him..!
Surely not a hard task?
So I found him some friends
They didn't move much
I was bound to win
No chance to come last?
Alas his thin home
Somehow formed a crack
Then it easily crushed
When I patted his back.
My poor little snail
Was 'Sluggie' no more
His new name is 'Sloppy'
And I race him....no more.
