Snowstorms and Shortbread Cookies

I'm tired of running,
from the knife wielding winds
you bring
blood lusting after light and colors;
hard and ready to bleed
the living gray
green fields hum,
sullen
trembling with fear, as they
hide under white blankets;
feeling extinction will come
Winter, I swear;
if not for your roaring fires
shortbread cookies
and the copulation; you inspire
I'd have no use for you at all.

Take care my friend.
lol, Richard never mind spring, let`s just go right into summer....cheers pal
:)
The spring is to turn the corner, the first rays of Sun that melts the snow and defrost our hearts are grateful after a long Winter.
A salute to both.
you said it, Lucas, amen....cheers pal
WOW!!.... this is great dude!!......... so .......you're Robert Frost now?!.........I swear you just painted a very cool heartbeat here....... right beneath that sullen hum you so eloquently deliver with your lusty paintbrush.......... and your manly attitude........... what are you doing on Cosmo?...... you should be writing for THE NEW YORKER ..........hey I just had to stick it to ya !!..........you're so good and you just won't accept the fact that Tony Love's you man!!........... kisses.........T xo
T, I like Cosmo; it`s an interesting universe, and I`m way better than Robert Frost, bro. lol, when it comes to marbles...poetry is highly subjective in my opinion, poets tend to like things that remind them of themselves, this one was difficult to write, and although it`s not one of my favs, I like it enough, and wanted to post four that day, for some reason... it does have its moments but it never came together for me to `love` it, I appreciate your comment though, it`s encouraging...thanks
Sis Cherie, I`m walking with ya on that one....strangely enough, I don`t mind 3 weeks of winter; the 6 months is a bit much though, I`ll do my best to hang in there, my friend....cheers
Hi Christopher! This poem states well the discomforts of a long winter, such as we also get in Minnesota, as I'm sure you know! Also like the pleasures brought by winter, "roaring fires shortbread cookies and the copulation." Also I like winter for reading, though I am grateful spring is coming, as I do read year round.
Hi Susan, glad you enjoyed, I like reading as well....cheers
I love this one to! The way the words flow, amazing!
Great job Christopher
thank you, friend Keshia; have great day
