Poem -

Sometimes I meet people

Sometimes I meet people who make me smile inside,
and sometimes I meet people who make me die inside

and sometimes I meet people who I wished I never had,
and sometimes I meet people who make me feel so glad

and sometimes I meet people I just don't understand,
and sometimes I meet people who feel just like I do

and sometimes I meet people with a face that's so kind,
and sometimes I meet people who are no longer alive

and sometimes I meet people so friendly and blithe,
and sometimes I meet people so painfully shy

and sometimes I meet people with nothing at all,
and sometimes I meet people who'll never have enough

and sometimes I meet people who just don't understand,
and sometimes I meet people who lend you their hand

and sometimes I meet people with a vulnerable charm,
and sometimes I meet people who mean to cause harm

and sometimes I meet people untouched by the world,
and sometimes I meet people who've nowhere else to turn

and sometimes I meet people in the books I read,
and sometimes I meet people who don't feel any shame

and sometimes I meet people looking for someone to blame
and sometimes I meet people who are just passing through

and sometimes I meet people who don't know what to do,
and sometimes I meet people true unto their word

and sometimes I meet people who promise you the world,
and sometimes I meet people deep inside my dreams

and sometimes I meet people falling apart at the seams,
and sometimes I meet people who leave me in awe

and sometimes I meet people with faces so forlorn,
and sometimes I meet people who gleam and beam with pride

and sometimes I meet people with self-deprecating minds,
and sometimes I meet people who take me by surprise

and sometimes I meet people with desolate eyes,
and sometimes I meet people just trying to survive

and sometimes I meet people who make me die inside,
and sometimes I meet people who make me smile inside
