Sons, daughters and parents
She’s making lunch in the kitchen
Gets the kids ready for school
then she goes to the grocery
Comes home and clean the swimming pool
She does all the laundry
Fold the cloths and pack in the draw
She makes dinner in the oven
she got Soccer practice at four
He gets home at six in the evening
Turns on the TV and grabs a beer
Get angry when he seesÂ
That She is not there
Since he came back from Iraq
He was never the same
They send him in the fire
But only she now feels the flame
And when she gets homeÂ
He wants to starts a fight
She put the kids to bed
And kiss them goodnight
Then he hits her so hard
When she comes down stairs
She fell down the to floorÂ
Her eyes fill with tears
And she cries in silence
As her mouth bled
She thinks of the childrenÂ
upstairs sound asleep in their bed
Then he attacks her
She’s afraid for her life
They struggle in the kitchen
And he fell on a knife
And now she is behind bars
Until the case is done
While in the white house
New war plans has began
The children are with her parents
A happy family life taken away
As the evils of war continues
To call our sons and daughters today
Let’s make our voices have an effect
Calling for all wars to endÂ
And lets this be a world where no one
Lost a son, daughter or parents again

This touches my heart. So sad and so real. War is hell on earth and many are collateral damage even out of the war zone.Â
So very sad, a situation that has two stone's , without the brave soldiers where would we be, a world at war is not a world at all, sadly we need them, and those brave peace keepers, the things that need changing the most is the way they are swept under the mat upon arriving home with the demons of war, more counselling and psychiatric support should be guaranteed to each of these family's. Sorry if you Don't agree, but your poem cuts deep great work, much love nardine xox
thank you nardine and shirley..its sad war may sometimes be a necessary evil. But no matter how necessary, it is always an evil, never a good. We will not learn how to live together in peace by killing each other's children.every heart bleeds at war and why in today's modern society.many has to understand terrorism  is the evil acts of a few in all religions  and no nation and citizens deserve to face wars because of a few evils ones..Sons, daughters and parents pays the price
I know what you mean, but someone has to serve and protect, this world is capable of so much good, but so much evil , makes peace impossible.
sometimes the situation is created ,just to protect and serve but every country has the right to protect and serve..and why do any country needs nuclear weapon.what gives some super powers the right to say we can have ...but you can't have .nuclear weapons should in any country..and after 7 years  of unarming a country.they then stared a war base on lies .resulting in the maiming and lost of  millions of lives on bout sides.so some times serve and protect is good we need that but we dont need needles wars.for needless suffering .
