Soul Memories

Soul Memories

Somewhere on the path of forever,
Lost shreds of my soul
Still linger on the limbo of another existence
Somewhere in the skies of Dover
I'm still trying to turn the aircraft belly up
In the vain hope to escape the hell of fire
That's burning me alive...
As I struggle for my life
The remembrance of a sad face
Hangs in my mind...

Last night we had a quarrel
I left without saying I love you
Without one last goodbye
My heart torn
By guilt and remorse
A promise not fulfilled
And an unbearable sense of sorrow
Regret, anguish
Falling, falling in a deadly spiral
Until darkness embrace me...

Dover, 1940

Being Me

It's bad enough that this happens in the now, but to know that it happened in a previous life, well, that is twice as heartbreaking. Great idea for a poem x

Thank you so much for your comment. Yes, you're quite right. It's like a painful burden on my shoulders. This poem is nothing but the short version of a nightmare that has been haunting me since my childhood. I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

Hello Tony!  Thank you very much for your comment which is of great importance to me. Yes, indeed, it is a heavy burden for someone who comes into this world with such a karma. I know well what it means.
I'm glad that you enjoyed it.

All the best.

Yes it is. As I had already mentioned it's a burden too heavy for anyone who comes into this world accursed with such a fate. Thank you so much for your comment, Marion.

The fish of the sea

Wow Victor, what a professionally written, yet wholeheartedly relatable poem. Almost, for me, it feels as if this was written from the grave and its emotions are heavy, I`m filled with intrigue with this one, and that doesn't happen often!! Worth a humble follow? I think so~ Welcome to the Cosmos Victor

Thank you very much for your comment which means a lot to me. You're right. This poem is just a written version of a nightmare that has been haunting me since I was a child. Karma from a previous life in the form of intense and constant suffering. In addition to nightmares, other signs and evidence that I have been receiving throughout my life leave no room for doubt. I am perfectly aware that this is a complex subject that always generates intense polemics from which I flee whenever possible..I like to write poetry but I don't consider myself a poet. I have a couple more writings dedicated to this specific subject but I cannot guarantee that it is worthy of sharing.

Thank you one more time.
