Inside my head
There is lots of noise
On my face
I must maintain my poise
Sometimes I think I'm crazy
Other times I think I'm sane
There are times of laughter
Then there are times of pain
I am afraid of myself
My thoughts have become scary
My mind thirsts for knowledge
But my soul has become wary
I don't understand this world
I don't get people
Everyone is so angry
We are filled with evil
Mankind is very selfish
It's always "What about me?"
We rarely think of others
Though we have all that we need
Life needs no explanation
The answers stare us in the face
The truth is what we are after
Yet we put lies in its place
I'm trying to make a point
I'm not just complaining
If we lose our souls
Then what are we gaining?
We all have a destiny
It's not about being a good person
But time just ticks on
And as people we worsen
I'm just like the rest of you
We are all the same
Drowning in our sins
With only ourselves to blame
Why must we hurt one another?
Doing only what pleases us
Satisfying our flesh
Disobeying Jesus
This is not about religion
But isn't it odd
Most believe in ghosts
But do not believe in God
Think about who you are
What do you stand for?
Are you a soldier
In this spiritual war?
One day it will all end
You will see what I mean
Take nothing for granted
Especially the unseen
