Southern Gentleman

Southern Gentleman

I was born
and raised
a Southern Gentleman
Though I live
South
Of
L.A.

Decades later
I still can
be heard
speaking
in a quaint
and southern
Drawl

And Though
everytime
I do it
I make an ACLU Femenist
Attorney
Cringe
I will always open
a door for a lady
and reply
by saying
"Yes Sir or Yes Ma'am"

You See
We Southern Folk
Never mean
anything ill will
when we choose
to display good manners
it is just something
we are taught
something in grained
in us to do
the respectable thing....

Furthermore
I also talk slow
and sometimes
My conversation
will just carry
on
However talking slow
and thinking slow
are two different things
all together
Something you Northerners
can't seem to comprehend
a big mistake
when you try
to negotiate
As often I walk
away from the
deal
With a lot of Money
in My Hand
Responding
Politely

Thank You Sir or Thank You Ma'am!
