Southern Grits

Southern Grits

When The Lord
Decided to Touch
The Earth
With a Little Bit
Of Heaven
He created Grits

Just Add Salt
Pepper, Loads
of Butter
Maybe some
Bacon Grease
And The Angels
will sing
in the Skies
of Paradise

Do not however
add syrup
sugar
or anything
sweet
as this is
consider
Blasphemy
and surely
the work
of the DEVIL

Grab a bowl
and Enjoy
Take a biscuit too
why don't
YA
SWEET JESUS!

Greg, Had to look at your work. I love grits and I love Jesus! And this poem is truth in a southern way. Yeah no sweet stuff in grits...you got it right.  Terry Kay
