Spirits of the Sea

Spirits of the Sea

The sadness of a lost soul

set adrift across a stormy sea

travel forth to distant shores

be at one and yet set free

Through hardship, loss or trauma

scarred from battles that abound

seeking now tranquillity

riding the waters without a sound

The moon peeps down through the cloud

its beams streak across the ocean

revealing the crests from each new wave

spurred on by its flowing motion

A soul with no destination

no rudder to guide its way

using only light of sun and moon

destiny unsure for it has no say!

Drifting on currents that pass by

these lost souls will for ever dwell

set free to be spirits of the sea

let them be, don't break the spell!
