Stained Reflection

I stumbled into my reflection
dreading what my eyes will see
it was the face-- of a savage maybe
distortion of history's hate
death's failed endeavours
an image invoking only dread
naked hate burning a hole

Just as my fists clenched
a frozen blur between seconds
shattered reflection and crimson fury
I heard you say "I need you"
could it be
could it really be?
what I loathe with the fury of Gods
you long for in your dreams

my rage will watch over you
while I love you to madness
on pain's boulevard It will stand
even invoke contempt for me
wrecking anything touching your smile
even I
that much I can do
that much I can do.
