Suburban Sunflower

The moment that she bit
deep into her
ripe city peach like that ..
Was the very
same moment, he closed
both his eyes
and imagined handfuls of
apricots and a
single suburban sunflower ..
It was also
then that he realised it was
raining, he was
no longer starving, but yet
still hungry
for a small portion of her ..

the visual imagery is just flawless. Desire is such an individual thing but I can see how that hunger can be transformed into another need or yearning.
