Sultry Autumn

As we eat the last segments of tangerine sun
still drunk on summer as the year grows old.
Autumn shines her brightest amber smile
upon sunburnt skin of gilded copper brown.
As she embraces the yearning ground
She Looks forever upwards; knowing
it is time to wear her flaunting crown
of ruddy rubies and ornate jasper.
Trees reach heavenward,
their secrets whispered;
now light and laden-free.
Blackened and bare, their
hearts full of anticipation
for the winter slumber.
Full of hope for springβs
forthcoming awakening.
The earth has written her
sultry poem upon the sky;
for those willing to listen
to the changing breeze.
For those that;
feel with their eyes
See beauty in death
with lips full of tomorrow..
